Are you wearing green today?
It’s St. Patrick’s Day and we cannot wait to watch the parade and celebrate tonight. But here in ORGANO™, we cannot forget that we also love the color green because of one of our most beloved beverages: OG Organic Green Tea.
While we put on our green suits and shamrock hats, we are going to tell you some facts about why ORGANO™, and everyone else, is wearing green today.
- St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, was known for converting the Irish pagans to Christians. Supposedly, he died on March 17 of the year 461. Today, people celebrate St. Patrick to honor their Irish heritage all around the world. The color green on the Irish flag represents the Roman Catholic population of Ireland, while the orange represents the Protestant and the white the peace between both religions. In ORGANO™ we also honor other’s heritages with green: China was the first producer of green tea and now holds 80% of the world’s production. Green tea contains the highest level of polyphenols antioxidants of any beverage, which help you to fight free radicals, the responsible of premature aging. Maybe that’s why it is one of the most popular drinks in the world.
- The legend says that to convert the pagans into Christians, St Patrick used a three-leafed shamrock to teach people the holy trinity. And while our green tea has no shamrock leaves in it, it does have Ganoderma lucidum, known as the ‘King of Herbs’ because it’s health benefits.
- Ireland is also known as the Emerald Isle. The name comes from a poem written by William Drennan, a political activist who fought for the emancipation of the Catholics in Ireland, and it refers to the beautiful green hills and natural wonders of the country.
